They are convenient and well tolerated, though they do require attention to skin contact with partners and children until the gel has dried. Injectable testosterone is administered on a regular schedule, and most men learn to self inject at home after an initial teaching session in our office. Testosterone pellets are placed under the skin every three to six months, providing steady release without daily or weekly dosing. Oral testosterone options are also available.
